As I looked over my recent posts, realization dawned: I’ve written almost nothing about homeschooling in the past 6 months! That’s kinda sad.
This school year has been so different. With the curriculum we’re using and the ages of my girls, I haven’t done much actual “teaching” this year. Most of their learning is independent, with me always being available for questions, reviewing answers, talking through explanations, etc. I don’t even write up lesson plans for them anymore–they do that on their own as well!
Such a change from when they were younger. Sigh. Where does the time go?
Speaking of time flying, I guess I am doing some teaching–I’m teaching that young lady up there to drive! We’ve been at it for a couple of weeks now, and she’s doing great.
Our homeschool co-op hasn’t started back up for this semester, so our weeks are not as busy as they will be. We’re enjoying the slower pace of the moment. We’ve had homeschool roller skating days, youth group get-togethers, and yes–even a SNOW day to keep things interesting, though.
That last one was simply for the humor of it all. As Midwesterners, we were quite amused at the total shutdown of everything in town because of a dusting of white stuff. But we still used it as an excuse to do something totally different that day.

So that’s a little of our homeschool life at the moment. What’s happening in your world? You can read more “what’s going on” posts at Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers.
